While we can't list every theatre and entertainment venue in Midtown, we hope to catch your interest with some pointers, suggestions, updates...all close to THE DISTRIKT HOTEL. Often tickets can be purchased right at the box office on the same day of performance, and this can be an excellent opportunity to, "Take In A Show!"
The somewhat official boundaries of The Theatre District are:
| East: Avenue of the Americas (6th Avenue) | West: 9th Avenue |
| North: West 54th Street | South: West 40th Street |
Of course, there's Chelsea to our south, with excellent Off-Broadway productions and the Joyce Theatre for the Dance. To the west, mainly to 10th Avenue, there are tiny performance spaces that can offer delightful and offbeat productions. To the east, there are the productions in Rockefeller Center, and north, all the way to the Upper Westside, Columbus Circle and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts are so convenient to THE DISTRIKT HOTEL.
THEATRE ROW: West 42nd Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues. A nest of small but modern theatres attract visitors and New Yorkers alike with every type performance.
NEW WORLD STAGES: 340 West 50th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues. Again a group of modern venues, where the very popular "Altar Boyz" and "Avenue Q" have been successful.
SIGNATURE THEATRE: The Peter Norton Space 555 West 42nd Street, Near 11th Avenue. Fine American plays are featured, and seats are almost always at $20 for all performances.
ARS NOVA is another very small performance space at 511 West 54th Street and 10th Avenue. Usually comedy—all genres of comedy, with café seating and beverages available during the performance.
